Das 1.5" Edge Exhibition canvases are produced using high-quality materials to offer an affordable option. They are designed to provide a stable structure with a medium weight and medium grain canvas suitable for various painting methods. Das canvas is made from 1% natural long fibre cotton, woven with double warp yarns and single weft yarns. The canvas's strength derives from the thickness of the yarn, the density of the weave, and the quality of the fibers. It is not treated with alkaline, which helps preserve its natural color and flexibility.

The wooden frame is made from warp-resistant timber that has been naturally stored for six months. The wood undergoes soaking, degreasing, and kiln drying to ensure a sturdy frame structure. The fabric is primed three times with an acid-free acrylic ground (known as acrylic gesso). This process seals and protects the canvas, creating a surface that allows paint to adhere effectively. The correct size ground and primer are crucial for achieving a durable painting. "A painting is created on the primer applied to the canvas." Paint penetrates the primer, not the canvas fibers. For enhanced luminosity, it is advisable to apply additional primer compatible with the intended paint.
