Peer Sorensen EG Chop Brd 51X35.5X7Ccm

A 7cm thick end grain acacia block. This butcher block is designed for home kitchens, heavy enough to remain stable and deep enough to be resurfaced for many years.

• Sustainably sourced acacia. A hardwood with rich grain patterns, where each board is unique. It is durable enough for heavy daily use, naturally antibacterial, and resistant to moisture and wear.
• End grain construction. The fibers are oriented upright, allowing the blade to pass between them rather than across. The surface partially closes behind the cut, which is why end grain lasts longer than other types and is gentle on knives.
• Kinder to your knives. Wood is less harsh on a blade compared to glass or stone, helping edges remain sharp for a longer time.
• Naturally more hygienic than plastic. Wood possesses natural antibacterial properties and does not retain knife scars like plastic does.
• Measures 51x35.5x7cm. Sized for you to verify against your countertop before purchasing.
• Finished to showcase the grain. Treated to enhance the color and figure of the wood rather than cover it with a finish.
• Hand wash and dry. Timber should not be placed in a dishwasher, and a simple wipe down will extend the life of the board for years.
• Oil it occasionally. A coating of food-safe mineral oil nourishes the wood and prevents the grain from drying out. With this care, a board like this can outlast most kitchen items.

Peer Sorensen has been crafting timber boards since 1981.
