The Timber

Birch is a hardwood harvested in the Northern Hemisphere. It has a similar appearance to oak yet is much harder and readily takes timber stain and paint.  Interesting fact: Birch is often used in musical instruments due to its superior resonance and is considered a more sustainable timber, taking a third of the time of oak to reach maturity.
